So I'm not one to follow TV shows on TV, and I don't record shows either, so I've only see the first like... two episodes I think, on the internet, which was why I was so convinced that I already owned the season DVD when I bought it on Thanksgiving. I've also see pictures and episode previews in the One Tree Hill community I used to follow, and I saw that there were new characters. I really didn't like that there were new ones, I'm always so biased when it comes to those because I absolutely love the present cast, and I feel like adding new ones would take something away from the show instead of adding something to it. I'm pleased to say that after watching the whole season, that was not the case at all. :)
I really want to elaborate more on that but I don't think I can do it without giving anything away, so I'm just gonna say that at first I thought that Sam and Julian were bullshitting everyone else on the show, but I'm SO glad that that's not the case because they turned out to be really nice and like-able characters. :) I'm sad about Quentin, but happy for Nathan. Speaking of Nathan... that kid who plays Jamie is so good, he's so adorable and I think he plays the part so well! And as much as I hated nanny Carrie, she was okay for entertainment purposes. I do think her part was a little too much... it was creepy, and I felt bad for Dan too, I never really hated Dan, as weird as that is. I just feel bad for him since I don't think he's all that bad and everyone is against him, which is of course, understandable considering the things he's done... but still.
I'm so happy for Lucas and Peyton! It's about freaking time, yes? :) I love how the season ended and I'm so excited for season 7 to come out on DVD, haha. And Julian and Brooke is love! They should just get together and stay together forever. :)
It was a good season. I'm glad for the new characters and I'm glad that they brought back some of the old ones for guest appearances, plus the story is getting better. :)
Charlyn Yi, who plays herself in the movie, is basically making a documentary about how she doesn't believe in love, and her best friend in the movie named Jake Johnson (played by Nick Jasenovec) accompanies her and acts as the director/producer of the movie that they're making. So the two of them, along with the crew, travel the US and interview different people about their outtake of love. Along the way, Charlyn meets Michael Cera at a house party she and Jake went to. The first time they interacted was so adorable! Charlyn was so awkward, and Michael Cera was just so cute and you can tell that he was amused by her, and while Michael was alone with Jake he had told him that he was interested in Charlyn... and that's basically the beginning of his relationship with Charlyn. Jake makes Charlyn aware of Mike's feelings and the two of them hang out a lot and they get along really well. I was never really bored with the movie, which was good, I loved everything from the scenes between Mike and Charlyn and Jake and Charlyn and Charlyn and the people she interviews, they were just really entertaining for me.
Despite how happy Mike makes Charlyn, she didn't think that she still understood what love was, and I think it hurt Michael's feelings. I kinda felt bad for him, and annoyed at Charlyn. She's adorable, but her innocence in the movie is a bit too much it's just like... ahhh, stop, woman! I think it works out in the end though, but the ending could have been way better. Bleh, I would have liked for the conclusion to be clear.
The entertainment value was good though, and it really was adorable and I don't think it was overly done in anyway at all, so I give this a 9/10. :)
Moving on... :)
I saw Avatar on 3D about a month ago, so this review should have been up sooner. I've been aware of how well Avatar was doing thanks to Twitter. There was all this hype about it and I've heard that it was supposed to be really good and ground-breaking in terms of like... technology I guess. When I was finally seeing it in theaters I was very excited, but I didn't let myself have such high expectations because I didn't want to leave disappointed. That wasn't the case though. :)
The beginning was a bit slow, and it was a bit confusing, but you know, with movies like these the audience usually starts to understand everything they need to as the movie progresses. I have to admit, the 3D wasn't that great, I mean, it was certainly an experience considering the elements involved in this movie, but I wasn't that impressed. The plot was so-so. It reminded me a lot of Pocahontas or Fern Gully, because the story is really very similar, but I still enjoyed it immensely. The acting could be better, but it wasn't bad by any means, but it could be improve.
As enjoyable as it was, it was also very quirky. I mean, it's basically this whole other world, literally, because there was a group of humans in this planet called Pandora. I believe they were there because scientists wanted to study it, and also there were some very expensive type of mineral there that they wanted to harvest. The planet had an indigenous humanoid species living there, they are tall and blue-skinned, they live primitively, and they are very close to nature. The animals that inhabit the planet are bizarre, and some are pretty similar to our own fantasy creatures. There was one that was akin to a dragon, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't called a dragon in the movie. It was cool though, very creative. This is such a crappy summary/description, but you could always just look the movie up on Google. I'd really recommend this movie to anyone. :)

Jarhead woot! Since discovering Jake Gyllenhaal I've been wanting to watch this movie as bad as I wanted to watch Brokeback Mountain because Jarhead was obviously gonna be a war movie... I like war movies.
So first of all, the cinematography was well done, as well as the script and the way the actors delivered their lines, and I felt everybody was well suited to their parts. Seeing the cover of the DVD, I had expected this movie to be something like Saving Private Ryan, where there was a lot of action... there wasn't a lot of action in Jarhead, but I wasn't disappointed at all. The movie really just gives the audience a look at how marines are in general. It was realistic, the guys in the platoon... they were loud, rough, crude, funny, hormonal, aggressive, and they cussed a lot. I wouldn't have expected any less, the characters are more or less 18-years old, it's exactly how they would act after rigorous training and then they get deployed in the middle of nowhere where temperatures are extreme and there's "no pussy within a thousand miles."
The closest thing to an action sequence that there was in the movie didn't actually show the enemies, and there weren't even any casualties in the movie. My favorite part was the one where the platoon walks across the dessert and come nightfall some Iraqis had set fire to oil wells and the platoon was basically stuck in that area while it was raining oil. Jamie Foxx did really well in that film too, the part of SSGT.
Anyway, I wasn't crazy about the movie's ending. It shows the guys living normal lives, which was quite a contrast to how they were in Kuwait. They had hair on their head and everything, haha, but seeing them in the desert setting for the majority of the movie made me unable to picture them as civilians. But it was good, the cast was great.
7/10 because I wasn't sure what the actual plot was of the story, but there were a couple of narrations by Anthony Swofford in the movie so I guess it's about his experiences of being a Marine.

The movie was so romantic. I have a new found respect for Jake Gyllenhaal, and Heath Ledger for that matter. I definitely feel proud of them for having played the roles of Jack Twist (Jake) and Ennis del Mar (Heath), two cowboys who turned gay for each other after a job in Brokeback Mountain. They thought that after the job, they wouldn't ever see each other again, so they each had their families and stuff, but 4 years later, Ennis hears from Jack and they meet up and they were still totally in love. They don't, however, abandon their families or anything like that, they get together once in a while and you just see how perfect they are for each other, it's just so sad.
The story was gripping and romantic, but tragic and heart-wrenching. I feel sad whenever I remember the story, but that's good, because it means that the story had impacted my mood that much. And before I forget, the score was really good as well, it gave that sad, romantic mood to the movie, and it also sorta gave it that western vibe. I'd really like to learn how to play some of the tracks. :)
There are some explicit scenes that were a bit awkward to watch with company, and definitely no children should be around, there's also a lot of swearing in this movie, and some violence too, but it's such a good movie. I think I'd give it an 8/10, if it was a happier movie it would be a 10/10.
By the way, I don't recommend renting from iTunes unless you have like, SUPER fast internet, because our computers run on DSL, and it took 7 hours to download. Not pleasant.
WHAT THE FUCK KANYE?
God, that was so rude. Like seriously Taylor is a new comer compared to Kanye and she won a really great award, way to totally make her uncomfortable on stage.
Sheesh, he's such a tool. And a publicity whore.
I miss that show! I made me think back to the days when I used to watch it, and I remember enjoying it as well. If Nickelodeon were to air that show I would definitely watch it.
Haha this is under news just because I didn't want to create a new tag. Whatever, get over it people! :)

Clannad is definitely the most touching story I've ever watched. I admit, at first I thought it went really slow. I only gave it a chance because my cousin would always mention it and urge me to watch it. I didn't really want to because she said it was so sad, but it made me curious because she mentioned that her brothers who watched this cried as well, haha. I watched it, and the first few episodes were nice, and I guess, I got pulled into the story a little. But when it got the the "Fuuko arc", as I like to call it, it became a little slow for me, plus I didn't really like the Fuuko character anyway. There were random scenes that seemed off from the story line but I didn't worry too much about that, well okay, I did, but when I asked my cousin about it he said that he didn't know how to answer me without spoiling it. Anyway, after the Fuuko arc was done, I didn't feel like watching anymore so I took a break and I resumed watching a few weeks later. The episodes that followed were definitely more interesting, that was when I got hooked. Because I took a break from the series for a while, I forgot all the characters' names, so I had to remember them again. I remember watching and I got really curious about something so I asked my cousin about it, she absolutely wouldn't tell me, but my curiousity got the best of me and I checked the Wikipedia page for Clannad and I totally spoiled myself. I had no idea about the ending, I wouldn't even have guessed right. So here I was, sitting in front of the laptop and simply dying to get to the end, and it wasn't bad at all. In fact, I loved it! The pacing was great, I felt that the characters definitely took time to build up their relationships and it all worked out in the end. I give this a 4/5 because of the beginning, but the rest flows smoothly. :)

The way Clannad ended was exciting, so it made me even more excited to watch the sequel. I thought this was SO much better than the prequel! It gets way more interesting, and it leaves the high school life behind so it gives the viewer a little more of the "slice of life" genre. If I thought Clannad was touching, this touched me even more. Unlike the previous one, this concentrates more on the two main characters, Nagisa and Tomoya, and their relationship with each other. I cried so much while watching this, but it was hard considering my brother was playing on the computer behind me, and my mom even decided to sleep in our room one day, It would have been embarrassing to get caught crying over this, but I couldn't help it! I seriously tried not to cry, but it was useless. If you do watch this and you have a heart, you will definitely, without a doubt, CRY! It was so heart wrenching in the middle, and I didn't think they would be able to wrap it up nicely since I was getting close to the ending, but when I watched what happened it totally blew me away! I could NOT believe the ending, even though I'm extremely happy that in ended the way it did, but the sadness I felt still lingered. You really can't help but feel for the characters, and that is amazing. The random scenes I mentioned? Don't worry about it, they covered that too, and now I understand. I definitely give this a 5/5. Beautiful masterpiece! :)

BAD. Well, not bad. But after having watched this after I watched the series, it really doesn't compare. I suppose someone who hasn't watched the series can watch this and see all the MAJOR plot points of the series itself, only portrayed in a slightly different way. Anyway, I thought the movie was boring, but I made myself finish watching anyway. I have no idea why I did. Maybe it was good after all? Ugh, I really don't know what to say, but it's basically the major points in an hour long movie. So that's it. 3/5 because I've seen better.
I really don't know what to say, it was just really enjoyable. Go see it. It's the must-see movie of this summer! :)
I'm so excited for the 7th movie.
